There’s no shortage of family-style restaurants and buffets at Walt Disney World. When deciding which dishes to partake in, one should look at the menu and decide if the restaurant offers the food and flavors that interest them. I’m a big fan of Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I honestly had never heard of Sebastian’s Bistro until I was browsing through the restaurant reservations available. I’m glad I tried this culinary experience.
Sebastian’s Bistro is located near the lobby of the Caribbean Beach Resort by the main pool. There is a great view of the Riviera Resort and the Skyliner waiting outside the restaurant. Our reservation was for 7:10 p.m. and we were seated at 7:10 p.m. The only thing I will point out is that at the time of our reservation, the air conditioning was apparently not working in the restaurant. This made the restaurant somewhat uncomfortable to sit in. Our server said they had put in work orders to fix it. He said he hoped it would be fixed soon. That was the only disappointing thing about this dining experience.
The dinner menu is a fixed price of $29 for adults and $17 for children. It’s almost half the price of Ohana! We spent what we would spend on one person in Ohana so we could both eat.
Sebastian’s Bistro offers family-style dining where you can ask for more of an item you still love like Ohana. We ordered the regular and herbal options to make sure we could experience it all.
Your meal begins with guava butter buns and caramelized onion jam. Both were delicious additions to the roll. The spice necklace salad was next, and my husband and I devoured it. We ordered a second salad as it was bright and delicious. It contains a mix of green vegetables, kale, grilled pineapple, orange, spiced candied walnuts, radish and a lime vinaigrette.
Your entree includes three different meats: Mojo Pulled Pork, Oven Roasted Chicken and Grilled Flank Steak. While plant-based protein options are Impossible Kebobs, Fried Jerk Tofu, and Impossible Sausage. All the dinner accompaniments are vegan and delicious: vegetable curry, grilled broccolini, cilantro rice and kidney beans. You can request more of any item when you are done. We asked for more tofu, broccolini and chicken as they were all delicious. We were even able to take the leftovers home.
The dessert is coconut and pineapple bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. It was a perfect finale to a great dinner.
Our server, VJ, was personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He made our dining experience at Sebastian’s Bistro delicious and fun.
All in all, I highly recommend visiting Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney Caribbean Beach Resort as another option for family style dining. We were impressed with the service and the food. Hopefully the air conditioning will be fixed soon. Don’t overlook this experience when planning your next Disney dining experiences.
Have you ever eaten at Sebastian’s Bistro? What was your experience?
